Vanghat Riverine Woods

Vanghat Riverine Woods (earlier known as Vanghat River Lodge), situated on the Ramganga at the edge of the forests of Corbet Tiger Reserve (Uttaranchal, India), an exclusive accommodation option for those seeking absolute solitude. 


Riverine woods is a unique mahseer conservation lodge and an exquisite eco-friendly resort that offers guests a genuine wildlife experience.
The lodge offers awe-inspiring opportunities to wild-lifers, birders, anglers, as well as those just looking for relaxing time amidst nature. Riverine Woods offers a range of facilities and services to its guests, including: catch and release mahseer angling, jungle safaris, experienced and trained naturalists, trained hospitality staff, elephant rides (subject to availability), guided nature walks, bird-watching, a library, guide service etc. Riverine Woods arranges transfers to and from Tiger Camp, Ramnagar in a 4 wheel-drive jeep for its guests. While the camp is open round the year, fishing is closed from 15th June to 30th September each year.


Accommodation and food

There are 5 spacious mud, stone and thatch huts, which merge in with the environment but it has all the luxuries or comforts that one may think of. The large mud cottages are thatched with savannah grass, over a lining of bamboo ceiling. Large airy windows and verandas on 3 sides of the cottages afford splendid views of the wooded hills and river valley.

All the cottages have been built to allow a throughput of breeze throughout the day. The lodge has been designed to provide a comfortable, welcoming and traditional environment to stay.
These lodges have won the hearts of all the tourists serving mouth watering and hygienic food ranging from Indian, Continental, Chinese to the Regional items prepared by local trained chefs. Beverages like tea and coffee are available throughout the day.
Meals are served in a dining room that offers marvelous views of the dense forest all around.


Approach to isolated Vanghat Riverine Woods is on foot through pristine Sal forest hence average fitness and walking shoes are vital. From January till June when it may be approached on a 4 X 4 that fords in and out of the Ramganga several times.

Delhi is 310 KM from Vanghat - Hapur by pass - Gajraula - Moradabad by pass - From this point, where Moradabad by pass terminates, take "U" turn to left towards Moradabad city, travel 2 km, then take right turn - Kashipur - Corbett (Ramnagar)-Marchula.
