Dana Pani: An Organic Farmstay
Dana Pani

Dana Pani is an Organic Farmstay nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, with an expansive view over the Kosi valley meandering into the Corbett Tiger Reserve and adjoining Almora Forest Division. It is ideally located between the Tiger Reserve and the hill station of Ranikhet.  It is owned by a local family, who employ the local villagers. The villagers are warm, friendly and welcoming.

Organic Farming and Wildlife

Dana Pani is a place where Organic fruit and vegetables grow, the majority of which is distributed amongst the villagers for their daily needs. They also sell carnations for commercial purposes.  The entire farm is surrounded by natural vegetation which is a home to the langur, deer, wild boar, porcupine, leopard and tiger.

Accomodation and food

Accommodation is simple and comfortable with scenic views.  The food is traditional with Kumaoni fare and has been very highly rated by visitors. Guests are invited to join in activities like working in the vegetable garden, taking the goats to graze or milking the buffalo. Students with projects on learning about organic farming will find there stay rewarding as traditional Indian organic farming is very non mechanical and still follows ancient traditional methods. It is also an opportunity for today’s urbanized people to rediscover themselves by connecting with earth in a very hand on manner.

At night after hard days’ work; guests can relax, watch the stars, or simply sit and listen the sounds of the magical river and the forests.
